HIM to play 2 shows as special guests for Fields of the Nephilim’s 30th anniversary shows

From Facebook:

We are very pleased to announce Finnish rock heroes HIM as Very Special Guests for the Fields Of The Nephilim 30th Anniversary shows at O2 Shepherds Bush Empire on December 5th & 6th.

Legendary gothic-rock heroes Fields Of The Nephilim follow their headline appearance at O2 Academy Brixton last December with two dates at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire to celebrate 30 years of their unique existence.

They will be joined on both nights by very special guests HIM, the hugely successful Finnish rock band led by lifelong Fields of the Nephilim fan Ville Valo.

Says Carl McCoy, frontman and founder of Fields Of The Nephilim: “We are very pleased to welcome Ville Valo and HIM as our special invited guests to the Fields Of The Nephilim 30th anniversary celebrations in London later this year. We played alongside HIM at their own festival in Finland some years ago at their personal request, so we are now able to return the compliment. HIM will enhance these shows by casting their very own respected craft and aura, making it memorable for all those who join us.”

Says Ville Valo: “Crafting and crooning such demonically delightful ditties for three decades is no mean feat, and we’re extremely excited and fiercely flattered to be invited to join the festivities by sonically honouring the past, present and future of Fields Of The Nephilim!!!”

These two shows are far from being solely a chance to reflect on the Nephilim’s momentous past. In fact Carl McCoy has just announced that the first new material from Fields Of The Nephilim since 2005’s stunning album ‘Mourning Sun’ will be unveiled soon.

“Now is the chance for me to let go and release some new Nephilim tracks which have been constrained to the studio for some time. Trying to concentrate the work and thoughts down to a simple single objective is always a difficult practice but that’s the nature of the beast… easy to find the beginning but always hard to reach the end” – Carl McCoy

More details of these new recordings will be revealed soon.

Tickets for the 30th anniversary celebration concerts are on sale now from all usual outlets priced at £25.
